WHO
Rodney Burns, Chief Information Officer, AOHC.
WHAT
Mountain climbing.
WHEN
“I don’t get the chance to do this as often as I’d like. I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last winter as a 25th wedding anniversary trip for my wife and me.”
WHERE
“Aside from Mount Kilimanjaro, I have climbed multiple peaks in North America, including Mount Davis, in British Columbia, and have trekked around Mount McKinley, in Alaska. I will be climbing Mount Fuji, in Japan, this August.”
WHY
“Climbing is a sport I have done since high school. I went through formal training for class-five rock climbing and branched out to mountaineering when gravity got too effective. I grab any chance I can to get out into the natural world. I’ve been a scouting leader with my kids for 15 years, to justify camping, canoeing, rafting, etc.”
