Designed for Designers Inside STGM Architectes’ new eco-friendly office in Québec City December 1, 2015 Photos by Stéphane Groleau The 1,000-square-metre building employs concrete siding and Eastern cedar to create a simple yet dynamic impression. Ninety-four percent of the spaces have access to outdoor views. Comfort, simplicity, and coherence are the space’s founding principles. The use of wood salvaged from old houses in the area is an ecological signature of the project. Strict weight requirements were met with ductile wood frames. The longitudinal form, developed north-south, is sober and contemporary. The two-story office houses indoor and outdoor meeting spaces.
